We encourage you to bring your cameras with you on your river rafting tour to capture unforgettable memories. It’s essential, however, to keep in mind that there is a lot of water and sand, and you will need to protect your camera properly.
Smartphone Photography on Your River Rafting Trip
If you bring a phone as your camera, we recommend a waterproof case similar to the ones from Seawag. Additionally, to save your battery, consider keeping your phone in airplane mode during the trip.
Handling a DSLR on the Raft
If you bring a DSLR, we recommend storing it in a pelican case secured with a few carabiners to the raft. Space is limited on the raft, so please plan accordingly to accommodate your camera gear.
Charging Essentials: Maintaining Power on the River
Also, plan on bringing a portable power bank and a charger, as we do not have a way to recharge your cameras on the river. We highly recommend Anker chargers to ensure your equipment stays powered.
It’s wise to purchase your power bank a few months prior to your trip and test it with your gear to confirm compatibility. Solar chargers don’t work well on a river trip, and we do not recommend them.
Additional Camera Gear Tips
You are welcome to bring a GoPro Camera, but please ensure you have a strap for it as we do not allow mounting your camera on a pole or extension device while on our raft. Head or chest straps are best for minimizing disruptions.
Important Gear Restrictions
It’s important to note that drones are not allowed on any of our river trips through the National Park or National Forest/Wilderness areas.
